Perla Treviño is a New York-based self taught visual and tattoo artist. Born and raised in Mexico, after studying Engineering Geology, she decied to move to New York City in 2023.

She became an engineer, honing problem-solving and technical abilities that would later play an important role in her artistic practice. However, despite the success she found in engineering, the pull of creativity never left her.

She immersed herself in a variety of artistic mediums—painting, digital design, tattooing, focusing on understanding color theory, composition, and style. Her journey was unconventional, with no formal training. Instead, she relied on a mixture of experimentation, research, and observation. Being self-taught has been one of her greatest strengths because it has allowed her to develop a distinctive style that reflects her unique perspective, blending both technical precision and creative freedom.

Perla began an apprenticeship at a tattoo studio in her hometown of Nuevo Leon, Mexico. After a year of working with her mentor, she moved her life to NYC, becaming a license tattooer. She has appeared as a guest artist at tattoo parties, organized by a local social group in Brooklyn. Currently, Perla is taking clients in New York and New Jersey.
